We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our Calgary team.


The successful candidate should be someone who is proactive with a strong work ethic, handle a busy workload, and who has a desire to work in the Accounting field. The ideal candidate will have a strong client service focus, the ability to multi-task, have solid analytical and organizational skills, have strong technological skills, and excellent communication skills.


What you'll be doing:

  • Accounts receivable tasks such as charging clients credit cards and posting cheque and electronic payments;
  • Account payable, posting client disbursements such as Civil Litigation Filing Levy;
  • Trust accounting, including depositing and disbursing trust funds in accordance with Law Society rules;
  • Prepare and review draft bills and finalize invoices;
  • Implementation of accounting policies and procedures, including communicating accounting information to all level of staff;
  • Responding to queries regarding the accounting processes; and
  • Perform other related duties as required.


    What you'll bring:

    • Basic knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures;
    • Able to work well independently whilst also supporting the Vancouver accounting team;
    • Proficiency in using and MS Office applications, particularly Excel;
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
    • Strong attention to detail;
    • Client service oriented and team player;
    • Willingness to learn and grow, take on new responsibilities as needed;
    • Ability to excel in a high volume, fast-paced environment;
    • Knowledge of law firm billing processes and understanding of legal billing software is an asset (e.g., Elite or 3E);
    • Some overtime will be required during peak season; and
    • Law firm and trust experience is highly desirable.
