SCOPE:
Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance and Projects, this role will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complies with the Maintenance Program as delineated in QMS-4-P006.
Performs preventative, predictive and diagnostic maintenance on production and facility equipment both inside and outside.
Read blueprints, electrical and schematic drawings.
Install, move and dismantle plant equipment according to the growing needs of the business.
Responsible for the creation and scheduled completion of CMMS work orders, ensuring that work is completed as scheduled and prevents overdue work orders.
Participates in developing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program for the facility and the equipment.
Creates, participates and/or develops improvements to eliminate waste, which may include Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles.
Resolves machine problems with effective trouble-shooting using internal and external support systems.
Assists in managing maintenance parts and supplies inventory.
Expected to complete any other tasks within the scope of their training as assigned.
Work in a safe manner following all safety rules and PPE, LOTO, Confined Space, Fall Arrest, etc.
Ensure that safety is made a priority and that team members are abiding by all Health and Safety regulations.
Performs daily 5th Class boiler checks.
On-call / After-hours response to emergency equipment breakdowns.
Collaborate with maintenance staff in both plants to grow knowledge and build strong maintenance team.
Effectively communicates and collaborates with Maintenance and Production teams to ensure efficient plant operation.
Assist with general building repairs and maintenance required. (carpentry, snow clearing from employee entrances, emergency exits, trim and spray weeds as needed etc..)
Flexibility to work in Ste Agathe and Winnipeg plant as needed.
Working at heights and in adverse weather conditions.
Other duties as assigned by the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-Secondary diploma or degree in a technical field preferred.(Industrial Mechanic)
Leadership experience in a maintenance environment with proven leadership abilities.
Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
Knowledge of building and equipment systems.
Strong business focus on Safety, Quality and Cost.
Strong troubleshooting/problem solving abilities.
Maintains a high level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
Ability to apply high level root-cause and problem-solving skills at all levels and the ability to set priorities and provide appropriate structure to solve problems/issues.
Strong communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office. (Word, Excel)
Flexibility to respond to issues outside of regular working hours.
Forklift/scissor lift experience an asset.
