Role Description The Payroll Benefits Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Burnaby, BC. This role is responsible for accurately processing payroll, maintaining employee records, and administering benefits in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and validating payroll runs, managing deductions and garnishments, responding to employee inquiries, and coordinating benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations. The Payroll Benefits Administrator will also ensure compliance with relevant leave policies, support audits and reporting, and collaborate with HR and finance to resolve payroll and benefits issues. The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and consistent communication with employees and internal stakeholders. Qualifications Candidates should possess skills in Payroll Administration, including accurate processing, reconciliation, and reporting. Candidates should possess skills in Benefits Administration and Employee Benefits management, such as enrollments, changes, and compliance tracking. Candidates should possess skills related to Garnishments and leave programs, including familiarity with the U.S. Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) or comparable leave frameworks. Relevant experience in payroll, preferably within trades, construction, or similar industries. Proficiency with payroll and HRIS software (ADP Workforce Now), and strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting. High degree of accuracy, integrity, and respect for confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support employees and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Post-secondary education in accounting, business, human resources, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; professional payroll or benefits certification is an asset. Support recruiting efforts by coordinating onboarding activities related to payroll setup and benefits enrollment; assist in training & development initiatives for staff on system updates or process changes.
