We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant / Accounting Assistant to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to build practical experience in a public accounting environment and develop their career in accounting and taxation. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will assist with: Day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple business clients Recording and reviewing transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) Bank and credit card reconciliations Accounts payable and accounts receivable Payroll processing and payroll remittances Preparation of GST/HST returns Preparation of T4, T4A, T5 and other information slips Preparation of year-end working papers and account reconciliations Assisting with T1 Personal Income Tax Returns Assisting with T2 Corporate Income Tax Returns Organizing and reviewing client accounting and tax documents Assisting with CRA correspondence and client information requests Communicating with clients to obtain missing documents and resolve bookkeeping matters Maintaining accurate electronic client files and meeting internal and CRA deadlines Supporting other accounting and administrative duties as required Qualifications Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field Recent graduates and entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply Basic understanding of Canadian accounting and bookkeeping principles Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook Experience with tax preparation, payroll, CaseWare, Taxprep or similar accounting software is an asset Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple client files and deadlines Strong communication and interpersonal skills Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities Previous experience in a Canadian accounting or CPA firm is an asset, but not required Language Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required Ability to communicate in Tamil is preferred and considered an asset, but is NOT a mandatory requirement What We Offer Practical experience in a growing Canadian CPA firm Exposure to bookkeeping, payroll, personal tax, corporate tax and CRA compliance Training and professional development opportunities Opportunity to work with clients from a variety of industries Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity for increased responsibilities and career growth based on performance How to Apply Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume and a brief introduction outlining their accounting experience, education and availability.
