Job summary

We're recruiting a Property Accountant for an opportunity supporting a commercial real estate portfolio. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on property accounting experience who enjoys managing the day-to-day financial operations of multiple properties while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. You'll be responsible for full-cycle property accounting, maintaining accurate financial records, and supporting month-end reporting while partnering with both finance and property management teams. What You'll Do Manage the day-to-day accounting activities for an assigned portfolio of commercial properties. Record rent receipts, maintain tenant accounts receivable, and prepare aging reports. Code and process invoices while supporting accounts payable activities. Complete full-cycle property accounting, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and month-end close. Prepare monthly operating reports and ensure the accuracy of financial information. Identify and investigate non-routine accounting transactions, escalating issues when appropriate. Analyze financial information and provide support for reporting and business decisions. Maintain accurate accounting records while ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Collaborate with finance and property management teams to support daily operations and resolve accounting issues. Assist with process improvements and other accounting projects as required. What You'll Bring Minimum of 2 years of property accounting or property management accounting experience. Hands-on experience using MRI or Yardi property management software. Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end close. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Professional accounting designation, or progress toward obtaining one, is considered an asset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
