Job summary

A national environmental services organization is seeking an Accounting Supervisor to support its finance team. This role combines technical accounting, financial oversight, and people leadership, making it ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys improving processes, developing team members, and contributing to the accuracy of financial operations. What You'll Do Lead day-to-day accounting activities and help coordinate month-end and period-end financial close processes. Review financial information for accuracy and completeness while ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Coach, mentor, and support a small accounting team, providing guidance on priorities, performance, and professional development. Analyze financial data, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions where appropriate. Assist with forecasting, financial planning, and management reporting to support business decision-making. Review and approve accounting transactions in accordance with established policies and procedures. Partner with operational leaders and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues and improve financial processes. Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, strengthen controls, and improve reporting efficiency. What You'll Bring CPA designation. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Several years of progressive accounting experience, including experience supervising or mentoring team members. Strong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and general accounting principles. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with enterprise accounting systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Bilingual communication skills are considered an asset, depending on the location of the role.
