Corporate Accountant Job Type: Contract to Perm Contract Duration: 6 months, strong potential to become permanent Pay Rate: Up to $35/hr DOE Location: Mississauga, ON (remote on Fridays) Your New Company Our client is a leading real estate and investment organization with a strong presence across Canada and North America. The company is committed to excellence in financial reporting, operational performance, and strategic growth, offering employees the opportunity to work within a collaborative and dynamic finance team. Your New Role You will play a key role in the organization's corporate accounting and financial reporting functions, being responsible for supporting the preparation of consolidated financial statements, maintaining general ledger activities, assisting with audit requirements, and contributing to management reporting, budgeting, and forecasting processes. What You Need to Do Support in the preparation and review of consolidated financial statements and related disclosures. Prepare supporting working papers and note disclosures to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting. Support the preparation of internal and external financial reporting packages. Coordinate and compile audit working papers and supporting documentation for quarterly and annual audits. Liaise with auditors and assist in resolving audit-related inquiries. Support preparation of management reporting related to key operational metrics, including NOI, occupancy, and leasing activity. Support annual budgeting, reforecasting processes, and variance analysis. Participate in special projects and other accounting-related responsibilities as assigned. What You'll Need to Succeed: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field. Currently pursuing a CPA designation, most ideally preparing/submitted Core 1 or Core 2. Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities. Ability to think strategically while executing tactically. Real estate industry experience is considered an asset. Public accounting or audit experience would be considered an asset. Experience with Yardi is considered an asset.
