Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well. About the role We’re looking for a Accounting Specialist for our growing team! What you’ll do here: Contribute to the production and distribution of various quarterly and annual reports, primarily to the regulatory authorities of all Canadian insurance companies. Participate in the monthly closing process including performance and documentation of related internal controls. Take part in various projects that may deal with complex topics and be able to anticipate their impacts on regulatory reporting. Participate in the preparation of detailed analyses including the quarterly analytical review. Participate in process standardization, simplification and automation initiatives. Participate in the continuous improvement of deliverables according to the evolving needs of our internal and external partners. Assist in facilitating the audit process and liaise with internal and external auditors. Perform other related duties (pension fund accounting, ad-hoc management requests, etc.). What you bring to the table: CPA accounting designation Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting and accounting standards (IFRS) Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously and challenge ways of doing things. Fast learning capability and agility Strong analytical, synthesis and rigor skills Leadership, team spirit, autonomy and efficiency Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders. Good process documentation skills Intermediate Excel level Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion is an asset. Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry is an asset.
