About This Opportunity The Accounting Analyst role supports the organization’s financial operations by managing GST/HST compliance, processing accounting transactions, performing reconciliations, and ensuring accurate financial records in SAGE. The position also assists with audits, banking activities, donation and campaign accounting, and leads process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Working collaboratively across departments, the incumbent provides support to members and volunteers while upholding organizational policies and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of their work. In This Role You Will Position Specific Prepare monthly GST/HST reconciliations and regulatory filings, including sales taxes, input tax credits, and rebates for nine provincial accounts, and process related CRA remittances and claims. Process intercompany transfers and record transactions accurately in SAGE. Assist with monthly Balance Sheet GL reconciliations and investigate variances. Act as a backup for bank reconciliations, stop payments, and daily bank balance updates. Assist with GST/HST account transfers, AP batch reviews, auditing reports, and reconciliation of GST/HST batches. Assist with external audit preparation, including reconciliations and supporting documentation. Lead and support accounting projects and process improvement initiatives. Assist with donation account reconciliations and year-end tax receipt processing. Support campaign-period inventory and accrual activities and coordinate with Accounts Payable for accurate recording in SAGE. Prepare and maintain accounting process documentation, procedures, and records. Apply organizational policies regarding diversity, equity and inclusivity to content, processes, member communication and customer service. General Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and practices. Liaise with other departments as required. Provide general, ongoing support to members/volunteers, responding to/directing inquiries and consulting with the appropriate groups and individuals to support the mission and vision of GGC. Other duties as assigned. You Should Apply If You Have The Following Education, Designations and Certifications Have a post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Taxation or a related financial field. Prior Work Experience Have at least 3 years of experience in an analyst role. Have working knowledge of/experience with Sage. Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities) Have strong attention to detail and the ability to flow through financial transactions. Have excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written. Have excellent organizational abilities with the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Is a team player with the ability to work at all levels within the organization. Are a positive, enthusiastic, and committed team player and have demonstrated a high degree of initiative, judgement, and problem-solving ability. Have demonstrated computer software proficiency with MS Office; Office 365, Advanced Excel. You embody the attributes of our core DNA – welcoming, imaginative, courageous, and enthusiastic.
