Position Summary The Accountant role is required to support financial reporting and general ledger activities, ensuring accuracy, compliance with IFRS, and timely financial close. This position is an individual contributor role, with no direct reports and no cross-departmental interaction, focused on delivering high-quality accounting outputs within the Finance & Administration team. Reports to: Finance Manager The Accountant Key Responsibilities Are Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a monthly basis. Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reports. Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring all journal entries, accruals, and adjustments are properly recorded. Analyze variances and provide clear explanations for fluctuations in financial results. Maintain complete and accurate lease records (equipment, vehicles, and properties) in compliance with IFRS 16. Calculate and record Right-of-Use (ROU) assets, lease liabilities, interest expense, and amortization. Review, code, and process vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment transactions. Ensure accuracy and completeness of AP and AR aging schedules. Monitor outstanding balances and follow up as required to maintain accurate records. Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal controls, and company accounting policies. Assist with internal and external audit requests, including preparation of supporting documentation. Support tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements as required. Education And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting (mandatory). 3-5 years of demonstrable experience Job Requirements Strong working knowledge of IFRS, with specific expertise in IFRS 16 lease accounting. Hands-on experience with inventory management. Proficiency using SAP. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP / INDEX-MATCH, and data modeling. Advanced English written and oral. Hands-on experience with inventory management. Methodical, process-driven, and highly detail-oriented. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Clear and concise written communication abilities.
