Conavi Medical’s Novasight Hybrid System enables simultaneous imaging of a patient’s coronary arteries using both intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) technologies. If you would like to be a part of a talented team that is making a difference in healthcare, we currently have a new opening for an Accountant to prepare financial and taxation documentation as well as facilitate inventory costing in an accurate and timely manner that is compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), government regulations, and internal policies, procedures, and controls. In this position, you will perform financial accounting activities including: Preparation of quarter-end and year-end financial statements such as working papers, schedules, and journal entry adjustments Assisting with the preparation of the quarterly and annual MD&A Assisting with treasury and cash management including cash flow results, projections, and spending variances Managing the quarter-end review and fiscal year-end audit Contributing to the preparation of Canadian and US company tax returns as well as sales tax remittances Designing and proposing accounting and financial controls as necessary Reviewing and validating financial models Preparing financial reports related to contribution agreements with public funding sources Analysing and evaluating corporate financial performance as required You will also perform cost accounting activities including: Collaborating with Operations and Sales staff in the development and maintaining of current and accurate costing, planning, and forecasting of inventories Gathering and analysing data on changes in product design, raw materials, and manufacturing methods to determine effects on cost and prices Contributing to the identification and reporting on opportunities for reducing purchasing and production costs as well as “lean” manufacturing initiatives Reviewing and analysing inventory cycle count results You possess the following qualifications: Degree in accounting and/or business Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards is preferred Strong financial and cost accounting skills and knowledge with experience in finance and/or accounting functions Public accounting experience would be an asset Experience operating under Canadian taxation system ideally including R&D tax credits Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application Preferred competencies include professional communication, collaboration and attention to detail combined with the ability to multi-task while still prioritizing activities in a fast-paced environment Conavi Medical values everyone and their contributions.
