The Accounting Manager will oversee client engagement workflows, perform high-level review of financial statements and tax filings, manage team deliverables, and mentor accounting staff while delivering exceptional client service. Key Responsibilities Engagement Execution & Workflow: Manage file progress, resource allocation, and workflow for complex compilation engagements, review engagements, and specialized advisory assignments. Financial Statement Review: Review draft working papers, financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure full compliance with Canadian ASPE and IFRS standards. Taxation Oversight: Review corporate income tax returns (T2), individual tax returns (T1), partnership filings, and indirect sales tax filings (GST/HST, PST) for statutory compliance. Staff Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, work paper review feedback, and ongoing professional development support for senior accountants, associates, and junior staff. Client Advisory & Service: Act as a primary client contact, advising management on internal accounting controls, tax efficiency, and financial reporting optimizations. Systems & Practice Integration: Leverage cloud-based tax, audit, and ERP systems to maintain high accuracy, security, and operational efficiency. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (ACCA, CPA, or foreign accounting credential recognized via ECA). Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of directly related progressive accounting and supervisory/managerial experience (preferably in public practice or senior corporate accounting). Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Canadian GAAP/ASPE/IFRS, corporate tax filing systems, and modern cloud accounting platforms.
