As an Intermediate Accountant at Best Buy, you will support inventory accounting through journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and financial analysis while driving process improvements and gaining exposure to core accounting operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The successful candidate is needed to be located within the Lower Mainland, BC, where we will practice a remote-first working model, leveraging in-person interactions for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes. Join our collaborative accounting team as an Intermediate Accountant. What you’ll do: Prepare and analyze financial data, including journal entries, variance analysis, and balance sheet reconciliations, while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, Enterprise Finance Policy, and SOX controls. Manage consignment inventory accounting processes, including vendor reconciliations, inventory balancing across systems, and timely resolution of discrepancies and mailbox inquiries. Oversee the allocation of freight, storage, and markdown expenses, and develop reporting that provides meaningful insights for business decision-making. Design and improve reconciliation templates, reporting, and data extraction processes to increase efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness. Partner with stakeholders to investigate issues, provide data-driven recommendations, and support continuous process improvements. Leverage strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and financial systems knowledge (Oracle and RMS are assets) while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture that values innovation, continuous improvement, and celebrating success together. What we’re looking for: 1+ years of experience understanding controls, performing routine reconciliations, and variance analysis Intermediate MS Excel skills. Effective communication and presentation skills. Post-secondary degree, preferably in Accounting. Second-year CPA program. Familiarity with SQL and Oracle Cloud is an asset.
