This includes examining and analyzing journal and ledger entries, bank statements, inventories, expenditures, tax returns and other accounting and financial records, documents and systems of an individual, department, company or other establishment to ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures and internal controls. Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and relevant supporting schedules. Assist in the preparation of compilation, review and audit engagements Completing procedures for general accounting functions such as bank reconciliations, statistical and account analysis, inventory observations, and depreciation schedule updates Preparation of corporate, personal and trust income tax returns Preparation of tax slips (T3, T4, T5, etc.) Bookkeeping assignments Develop and maintain positive and productive working relationships Develop strong technical audit, accounting and tax skills Delivering to the highest service standards Managing multiple client requests efficiently and in a timely manner What you bring to the table: Post secondary school graduate (Commerce/Accounting) Currently pursuing CPA Entry level technical knowledge and skills Knowledge of general ledger, accounting and account reconciliation Experience with Caseware/Caseview and TaxPrep would be an asset. Interpersonal and relationship building skills Team player with a positive can-do approach Attention to detail Creative problem-solving ability and critical thinking skills Seeks and researches solutions or answers Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in delivery of quality client service A general knowledge of firm’s products and services A general understanding of industry and market trends including opportunities, global and local business initiatives and stakeholder/competitor interests A desire to dig deep into work, learn all they can and have fun!
