We're recruiting for a forward-thinking accounting firm seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team. You'll work with clients across industries including technology, energy, wellness, and professional services, while gaining exposure to modern accounting technology and AI-enabled workflows. The Opportunity Part-Time | 20–30 hours/week $22–$28/hour Flexible hybrid work model Open to candidates across Canada What You'll Be Doing • Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for multiple clients • Record and categorize transactions using QuickBooks Online and other accounting software • Complete bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations • Manage and review AP and AR records • Assist with payroll entries and reconciliations • Prepare GST/HST bookkeeping records and supporting documentation • Prepare month-end and year-end files, schedules, and supporting documentation • Identify discrepancies and follow up with clients to resolve outstanding items • Communicate directly with clients to obtain missing information • Support bookkeeping clean-up and catch-up engagements • Leverage technology and AI tools to improve efficiency and accuracy What We're Looking For • 2+ years of public accounting experience preferred • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from a North American university or college • CPA designation pursuit required • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Proficiency with tax filings and a solid understanding of the CRA Tax Code • Experience with accounting and income tax software • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills • Tech-savvy, proactive approach to accounting and problem-solving What You'll Get • $22–$28/hour • 20–30 hours/week • Flexible hybrid work environment • Medical, dental & vision coverage after 3 months • Access to a pre-approved CPA training office • Tax-season bonuses • Summer half-day Fridays • $1,000 annual vacation allowance • $300 annual fitness allowance • Monthly lunch & learns • Career progression opportunities If you're looking for a role where you can build your accounting career, work with a variety of clients, and embrace modern technology, this could be a great fit.
