Aston Carter's large client is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their team in Burnaby on a permanent basis! This individual will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance for multiple entities. Working closely with Operational and Corporate Finance teams, this role is a core contributor to the month-end close process through the preparation of journal entries, working papers, reconciliations, and variance analysis. The Financial Accountant will also support key initiatives such as enhancing business processes, implementing new systems, and optimizing the close process, while partnering with various stakeholders across a matrixed organization. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively to meet the expectations of corporate finance, FP&A, financial operations, and external auditors. Process monthly journal entries, ensuring all transactions are adequately supported and compliant with SOX requirements. Prepare and reconcile monthly balance sheet account reconciliations for multiple entities. Perform monthly Profit & Loss and balance sheet analysis, developing a thorough understanding of variances in financial statement line items and providing meaningful commentary to senior management. Contribute to the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, supporting working papers, and completing variance analysis in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare monthly journals with appropriate supporting documentation and working papers. Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement variance analysis across multiple entities. Execute control procedures to ensure compliance with the global SOX program. Prepare statutory compliance reporting in accordance with applicable standards and regulations. Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, taking on new tasks as needed to support timely and accurate financial reporting. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders in a matrix environment, demonstrating strong communication skills and professional judgment. Act as an agent of change by supporting continuous improvement initiatives in financial processes, systems, and the overall close cycle. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $85000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
