Job summary

CPA Accountant Location: Remote (Occasional travel to Toronto and Mississauga may be required) Job Type: Full-Time Salary: $75,000–$85,000 per year Start Date: Immediate Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CPA Accountant to join a growing professional services team. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of corporate and individual clients, providing accounting, bookkeeping, tax, payroll, and financial advisory services. The ideal candidate is client-focused, detail-oriented, and has strong technical knowledge of Canadian accounting and tax regulations. Key Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of corporate and individual clients and serve as their primary accounting and tax advisor. Prepare and review bookkeeping, financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Prepare and file T1, T2, and T3 tax returns while ensuring compliance with Canadian tax legislation. Process payroll, prepare payroll remittances, T4 slips, and respond to payroll-related inquiries. Prepare and file HST/GST returns and annual information returns, including T4 and T5 slips. Support clients during CRA reviews and audits by responding to correspondence and preparing supporting documentation. Provide financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow planning, and tax planning recommendations. Set up and maintain accounting systems, perform software migrations, and support clients using cloud-based accounting platforms. Build strong client relationships by delivering exceptional service and proactive financial guidance. Qualifications Required: Canadian CPA designation. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 3–5 years of public accounting experience. Experience preparing corporate, personal, and trust tax returns. Strong knowledge of Canadian tax legislation and CRA compliance. Experience with bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statement preparation. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and other cloud-based accounting software. Excellent communication, organizational, and client service skills. Willingness to travel occasionally to Toronto and Mississauga for client meetings. Preferred: Experience with CaseWare, TaxCycle, Profile, or similar tax software. Experience with accounting software implementations and migrations. Experience advising owner-managed businesses. Multi-industry public accounting experience.
