Job summary
Our client is seeking a Supplier Quality Auditor to support and oversee the quality performance of subcontractors and suppliers. This role is responsible for conducting supplier quality audits, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, applicable codes and specifications, and supporting subcontractors in the development and maintenance of their quality programs. This is a highly hands-on position requiring regular travel to supplier and fabrication facilities to perform audits, assess quality systems, and foster continuous improvement. The successful candidate will have a strong technical experience, ideally within fabrication, construction, welding, or mechanical environments, and be comfortable working directly with suppliers to drive quality excellence. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and execute supplier and subcontractor quality audits in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Evaluate supplier quality management systems and identify opportunities for improvement. Provide guidance and support to subcontractors regarding quality program development, implementation, and compliance. Verify compliance with project specifications, industry codes, standards, and customer requirements. Review and assess Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and fabrication records. Conduct on-site audits at supplier, fabrication, and subcontractor facilities. Prepare audit plans, audit reports, findings, and corrective action recommendations. Monitor corrective actions and follow up on audit findings to ensure timely resolution. Work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to maintain high quality standards across the supply chain. Support continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier performance and quality management. Must Have Technical diploma, trade certification, or degree in a mechanical, manufacturing, welding, quality, or related discipline. Experience performing supplier, subcontractor, manufacturing, or quality system audits. Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards and quality management systems. Familiarity with fabrication, manufacturing, or construction environments. Experience Working With Industry Codes, Specifications, And Quality Requirements. Knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, and fabrication processes. Previous experience as a Quality Inspector, Welding Inspector, Supplier Quality Specialist, QA/QC Coordinator, or similar role would be considered an asset. Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with suppliers and subcontractors. Nice To Have Fabrication shop or manufacturing experience. Welding inspection or QA/QC experience. Experience auditing suppliers within industrial, construction, energy, or manufacturing sectors. Familiarity with rebar fabrication, structural steel, or other heavy industrial fabrication processes. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of North Vancouver, BC. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
