Responsibilities Responsible for managing U.S. and combined U.S.-Canadian individual income tax return preparation for U.S. citizens living in Canada, U.S. residents working in Canada and Canadians working and investing in the U.S. Assist in carrying out cross-border income tax and estate planning Deliver industry and technical expertise relating to Canadian and U.S. individual income tax, social security and international tax treaties through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high-quality deliverables Participate in expatriate policy design and implementation and in expatriate compensation design and implementation Advise on Canadian and U.S. individual income tax policy and tax changes Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss with managers or engagement partners to develop resolutions Correspond with clients and various government agencies to address client tax compliance issues Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlights Collaborate with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality and deadlines Lead engagement teams, developing effective relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary Skills And Experience Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major is preferred) Completion of a CPA designation; completion of CFE examination and working towards relevant practical experience requirements will also be considered 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting or tax experience Working knowledge of Canadian and U.S. individual and income tax (1040, 8621, 5471 and 3520) Experience working with accounting and tax software MyRewards@MNP With a focus on high-potential earnings, MNP is proud to offer customized rewards that support our unique culture and a balanced lifestyle to thrive at work and outside of the office. Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration and a CPA designation or progress toward one. Candidates need 2 to 4 years of public accounting or tax experience with knowledge of specific U.S. tax forms.
