Cover Letter

It is no longer necessary to send a cover letter along with your CV. Do so only if you deem it appropriate; the best thing is then to send it in the body of your e-mail with your CV as an attachment.

The cover letter must be specific and concise, no more than one page. Start by stating your career objectives, briefly summarize your experience and wrap up with why you are interested in the position in question.

Re: Payroll supervisor job
Ref.: 5666541hg

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am seeking to join a multinational company with a real potential for growth, both in Canada and abroad.

After five years of payroll supervisory experience, I am totally at ease with demanding, highly computerized environments. I enjoy hard work and responsibility. In my many supervisory jobs, I learned to manage a team with diplomacy and firmness.

Your ad for a payroll supervisor caught my eye because Group XXX, a dynamic, multicultural company with an eye on the world, matches my expectations.

I would be delighted to meet with you to see how I could be a valuable addition to the team. I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours truly,
